Applicants shall have a working knowledge and experience with the following abilities:
1. follow safe waste disposal procedures
2. move or fit heavy objects
3. obtain information from clients, customers, or patients
4. read technical drawings
5. understand technical operating, service or repair manuals
6. use knowledge of metric system
7. use oral or written communication techniques
8. read schematics
9. test mechanical products or equipment
10. adhere to safety procedures
11. align or adjust clearances of vehicle body parts or components
12. conduct tests to locate mechanical system malfunction
13. diagnose malfunctioning vehicle systems
14. follow vehicle repair procedures
15. observe or listen to machinery or equipment operation to detect malfunctions
16. operate vehicle engine electrical system test equipment
17. overhaul vehicle major operating units, such as engines or transmissions
18. read vehicle manufacturer's specifications
19. repair or replace malfunctioning or worn mechanical components
20. repair vehicle body parts
21. service vehicle with water, fuel, or oil
22. solder vehicle components
23. test operate vehicles before or after repair
24. understand service or repair manuals
25. use 2-cycle engine technology
26. use auto or vehicular body repair equipment
27. use engine diagnostic equipment
28. repair or replace electrical wiring, circuits, fixtures, or equipment
29. assemble, dismantle, or reassemble equipment or machinery
30. determine installation, service, or repair needed
31. diagnose mechanical problems in machinery or equipment
32. estimate time or cost for installation, repair, or construction projects
33. inspect machinery or equipment to determine adjustments or repairs needed
34. maintain repair records
35. use machine tools in installation, maintenance, or repair
36. use precision measuring devices in mechanical repair work
37. fabricate, assemble, or disassemble manufactured products by hand
38. identify properties of metals for repair or fabrication activities
39. use pneumatic tools
40. adjust or set mechanical controls or components
41. align or adjust clearances of mechanical components or parts
42. perform safety inspections in industrial, manufacturing or repair setting
43. read specifications
44. read work order, instructions, formulas, or processing charts
45. set up and operate variety of machine tools
46. use electrical or electronic test devices or equipment
47. use electronic calibration devices
48. use hand or power tools
49. use voltmeter, ammeter, or ohmmeter
50. maintain welding machines or equipment
51. use combination welding procedures
